I requested $15,000 for school with a "CitiAssist Undergraduate" loan through CitiBank. My college only certified $11,095.00. How can I get the other $4000 that I need, and still defer the payments until after I graduate?

  2. If the school only certified for that amount, then that is all you are eligible for based on your student  budget.  If you need more then that, either you have expenses that are not typical for a student, or you are not budgeting wisely.  If you have unusual expenses, for example, you have children for whom you have to pay daycare, you commute an unusally long distance and spend more on gas, ect, then you will need to speak to your financial aid office to see if they will consider adjusting your student budget.  If they will not do that, then you are going to have ot reevaluate your spending to make the money you are elgible for stretch further.  If you are trying to cover expenses like a car payment, credit card payments, cell phone payments, these things are not necessary for college and therefore are not considered educational related expenses, therefore you will have to work or find other means to cover these types of expenses.  Student loans are only for educational related expenses.
