  1. She was being nosy and wanted to know if you are going to turn your money over to a cult.  It is none of her business what you do with your money, although I hope you don't turn it over to a cult.

  2. She's just f-ing with you.

    .

  3. There is no oath of poverty.

    <<SSA Claims Rep.

  4. I have never heard of an "oath of poverty" when seeking Social Security benefits.  There is an application process that a person has to go through to determine if they are eligible to receive benefits and to see how much those benefits will be.  The SSI application process does include looking at your household income. And, yes, the amount of that income will affect how much your SSI payments will be.

The process for SSI and SSDI are particularly thorough.  I know.  I went through the process to get SSDI.

SSDI is based upon your ability to obtain gainful employment.  It does not matter what the household income is and what your assets are.  The amount you get through SSDI does depend upon the number of years you have worked and have contributed to the system.

If you are old enough, fill out the paperwork needed for application, and provide the necessary documentation, there should be no problem.

If you feel that you are getting the run-around, look up the number of the local or regional Social Security Office in your area.  You should also be able to find this information out on the web.  Asked to speak to the director or the person that is in charge of handling complaints.

    God bless.

  5. I think it has to do with age and your assets. I have never seen or heard of the term in the application but I do not know very much about it. The terms are for the most part used with religious aid.

  6. Because she hasn't updated to Dungeons and Dragons 4th Edition yet.

I think Oath of Poverty appeared in the Book of Exalted Deeds, a 3.x release.

At least, that's the only sense I can make of it.
