I only need them to see really small font. Like the newspaper. Can I go for awhile without really having a pair of glasses. I forget them all the time anyway. Will my eyes get worse??They have been steady for about one year now I am 50.

  1. Presbyopia is what you have.  Its normal for all of us once we get over 40'ish. Its the loss of elasticity in the focussing function of our eyes and cannot be reversed or stopped. Please yourself about the glasses.  Yes your eyes will get worse and the glasses will not change that.  Its a slow change. I recall 2 yearly eyechecks are the way to go for this stuff. Eventually you will get to a point where you need them for most "print", I forget mine all the time too.

  2. In my case the eye doctor advised me to keep the spectacles continuously. He advised me to remove only while going to bed. Since you are now 50, you can better start wearing glasses. It you do not wear, it will give more strain to your eyes while reading small letters.
