  1. Walmart has them from $5.00 to $13.00 any length you want

    Good Luck

  2. you can connect the cable from modem to the routrer instead of connecting it to yourr computer  then the router will do the connection to the isp and to the internet , not your comnputer so you don't need to connect manualy, also the most important thing that you can connect to this router by cable and by wireless so you can remove the cable between your comnputer and the modem or the router

note: you must have wireless card or usb for your computer if it's desktop and if it's laptop most of them have wireless built in

  3. Routers allow for the computer devices in your home to share an internet connection and to be networked together so that they may communicate for functions such as sharing files.  A wireless router allows for multiple devices (like computers) to be networked together using wireless connections rather that wired connections (ethernet).  Most wireless routers today allow for both wired connections (ethernet) and wireless.

If you just need a longer ethernet cord, you can simply buy one from Best Buy or any computer store.  If you want to connect multiple computers into a network and do it wirelessly, then a wireless router would be best.

  4. Sounds like the cable that came from the internet provider was too short, and you are hanging laundry on it.

You do NOT need a wireless router, just a longer cable so you can run it behind the desk and along the wall.

You can get the Ethernet cable in any length you want - just go to an electronics store and tell them you want a 'Cat 5' Ethernet cable that is say, 20 feet long.

You can go up to 300 meters, but I don't think you will have to go that long to solve the problem.

  5. You could always go to Radio Shack or basically any store nowdays and get a longer ethernet cable.

  6. Your internet provider provides a standard length cord from the incoming signal to your modem.

Next you'll need an ethernet cable from your modem to your router.

From a regular router with NO wireless capability, you will need a longer ethernet cable to run to the computer; and that will be as many feet as you need to run around the wall, and not across the middle of the floor.  Depending on the size of your room, you'll start with 25 feet, or more.

From a router WITH wirelsss capability

you will need a wireless card installed in your computer for wireless connectivity.

Newer computers already do have the card inside.

Check your hardware list in Device Manager.

If not, you can purchase one and install it easily.
