I ate some canned tamales last night around midnight and they are still not agreeing with me.....I feel icky, have drank Maalox. Every timee I get up my stomach kind of churns. I just hope it is ok to nurse my baby. I ate a banana sandwich and milk about 8 am to try to push it on through......any advice out there?

  1. A banana sandwich won't push it through. Bananas are known to constipate you. I would drink lots of water and eat some fruit if you can stomach it. Cooked carrots are also good foods to push things through. Have you asked your doctor about this yet?

  2. Well, I've had a food poisoning before (kept throwing up) and my pediatrician said that it was ok to continue breastfeeding.

You can always contact your pediatrician to make sure.

  3. Keep  nursing your baby.  Whether you just have heartburn or a touch of food poisoning, neither one will get to your baby.

If you have diarrhea/vomiting, be sure to drink enough fluids to stay hydrated -- otherwise, keep nursing and wait for it to pass .... (pun intended. ;-))
