or maybe activities.

the almost four year old is easy to entertain, but when we play games I'm running after the other two because they just don't understand. whats an activity (other than coloring, and playing outside, or watching tv) that we can all play together?

  1. playing with dolls, rolling the ball to each of them.  Try finding a youth stretching and large motor skill dvd or program on tv.  The 1 year old might now catch on right away but the 2 y.o. will probably want to do what the older child is doing and eventually the 1 y.o. will want to get involved as well.  Playing dress up there are some great dress up clothes for boys now.  Playing with playdough(even making your own), modeling clay painting.  Of coarse for these activites your going to want to be right there making sure the younger two dont eat any of the art activities!

  2. Hide and seek, but in pairs, so the one year old is on your team and and two year old and four year old on the other team. Only play in one area of the house, that is easy, like the lounge, because you can hide behind the couch. Its not much fun for you, but they will love it.

Another one is to sit with the 1 yr old on your lap on the floor and the other two at opposite ends (make like a triangle) and roll a ball around to each other good for ball skills.

Kids love to dance, so put some nice happy music on and dance around, hold the little one and twirl around, give each one a turn to be picked up, they love that....that will keep you pretty busy. Teach them little songs that you know, kids love singing.

Outside, if it is warm you can put a small bowl of luke warm water outside and let them have a little water fun, with sponges and some water toys, but you will have to watch them very carefully as you can't leave children alone with water, no matter how small the amount.

Painting is great fun for kids. Stick a whole lot of paper together so that it is a big sheet of paper, put paint on their feet and hands and fill the paper with foot and hand prints. (you get nice kiddie friendly paints that wash off easily). Kids love mess and dirt so showing them how sand and water make mud, is great entertainment and educational as it teaches them about different textures.

    Hope that helps.

  3. Rolling a ball to each other, you can toss it to the 4 year old but make sure he knows not to toss it at his siblings.

    Dancing

Finger paint with pudding (unfortunately keeping the masterpieces won't be an option, but it's edible and fun) -- After the finger painting, you can kill at least 30 minutes with a bath for all of them, lol.

    Sing songs -

5 Little Monkey's Jumping on the Bed

5 Little Monkeys Swinging in the Tree

    Frere Jacques

    Alice the Camel

    I'm a Little Teapot

    Row, Row, Row Your Boat

    anything you remember from childhood

Read them stories, even the 1 year old can enjoy that if it's a short book.

Give them some stickers a some paper and let them stick them on.  Small things amuse small minds, believe me, hehe.

  4. i have a 3 years old and 1 year old....and i grab a crib sheet and we all sit in the middle of the floor...and lift it up in the air we all go under it and they get a kick out of it...giggling and such something they use to do in school..parachute game its fun...another would be turning on  music and dancing with them my kids like that i even have a video here of my 3 year old and 1 year old dancing i know the song isn't appropriate but it wasnt what they orginally were listening too i just thought the song went good with the dance moves he was doing LOL
