  1. if you want throws in htere take judo or sambo, but regular bjj is good to. submission wrestling which is just normal grappling without traditional martial arts is good, becuase it fuses wrestling with jiujitsu.

  2. Chuck Norris Adventure Kingdom!

  3. jujitsu is good grappling and judo is your throws and good for your ground game. also zendokai and well yer.

  4. Since you have boxing as a base, I would say train in BJJ or wrestling.

BJJ will give you a more well rounded background. You will learn takedowns, submissions and how to control a person on the ground.

Outside of having wrestled in high school or college, it's really hard to find a place that teaches wrestling for MMA. But, if you were to learn Greco-Roman wrestling, you could learn how to control someone in the clinch, great throws and dirty boxing.

I would say the poster above has a great idea. You should train with Tim Credeur. He's on this season of the Ultimate Fighter, and he's a BJJ black belt. He seems like a pretty easy going guy too from what I've read of him.

    Good luck with your training.

  5. Cool, boxing is great, where I live we have the world's longest standing judo club, 50 years old and still going 4 nights a week.  Judo, wrestling, JiuJitsu, all are good, use what is available. to you. I just looked up stuff in your immediate area on the web, there are some resources I found during my cursory search.

The town I used to live in and the City I now live in both have long standing Judo clubs, so does Lafayette. Judo will give you a ground game for sure. If you are near any colleges, see if they have a grappling club.

I enclosed a couple of links in you area, the second one is more interesting to me as they are a club, they are not in it for the money, merely the love of the sport.

    Good luck

  6. Holy Sh*t. I live in Lafayette. You should train with Tim Credeur. He is awesome on the ground. He has over 40 BJJ championships. He trains at Gladiators Academy in B.R. Check out his Myspace:
