Question:

I been shopping around for insurance with different insurance agencies here in CA ?

and noticed that the premium is about the same for all of them but the broker's fee ranges from $100 to $300, can that be negotiated ? or is it illegal to do so ? i like one of the insurance agencies since they were super nice but they also have the highest brokers fee, could they match the other agencies price ?

That's been my experience, as well.  They differ by dollars, even the same company but in different state, too.  I've let them know that I like there services and packet, however, it's out of my reach for now.  I will keep you in mind and call you back if I can't find more affordable pricing.  I have had some luck but not always.


  2. Per California law: This fee is not set by law, and may be negotiable between the consumer and the broker.


  3. Broker fees are legal in California but these, like most of the insurance industry, are regulated by the state.
