  1. They imitate Christ, name specific dates and times for the world's end, use cold reading (a technique) to "perceive" a person's past, etc.  There are as many methods as grains of sand on the beach.... and that's if you don't count all of the world's beaches combined.

But they all share one flaw... they are human.  They can contradict themselves.  It is up to us to see through their lies by using our minds, our reason and logic, to see the truth of their nature.

Also another way COULD be to mimic prophets of the past, claim to be the voice of God and say some stuff that parallels some stuff of the bible (if you don't think that'd work, trust me.. It would work with someone, no doubt).

  2. No matter how far they go to make themselves believable we only have to go as far as the Bible to identify them.  If they claim to be Jesus and I have to go where they are to see them, FALSE PROPHET!

    Be Blessed

  3. Hi!  "Honest Joe" Smith here! There are false prophets but, boy, are there some real "profits" to be made out there!

You don't have to do much to make yourself believable - there's a sucker born every minute!

  4. Please enlighten us by naming the true prophets.  If you don't know precisely who they are, how can you believe they exist?

  5. I've sat in on some 'false prophet' teachings... it is scary and no different than a psychic side show... they come up with vague storylines and suckers fall for their fake 'words from God'....  even had one 'prophesy' over me and was wrong on 4 different subject lines.... sorry, but God is not now nor ever WRONG and knows me by name... this guy was fake and false yet people around who KNEW all that was going on still think he is a prophet??  what the heck?  they used droning music to almost put people in a trance...

i've also seen God truly speak thru people... but i would not call them 'a prophet' .. just someone God used for that purpose at that moment.

  6. Mat 11:13  For all the prophets and the law prophesied until John.

Mat 7:15  Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.

Eph 4:11  And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers;  :12  For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ:  :13  Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ:

  7. Christ said the last prophet was John.

  8. Yes, there are many....Jesus warned that in the last days many would come in his name and deceive many....that is why it is important to be rooted in the truth of Scripture....

I even heard a United methodist preacher last week try to convince his congrgation taht Jesus was a 'normal' man and even had sin in his life....beware of such false doctrinnes from unregenerated men.   This man is sure to get rejected soon...if not by the congregation, then surely by Christ.

  9. If they are passing around collection plates in the church or on the street, then they are not prophets.

  10. There are no "real" prophets, and there never has been. Anyone who claims to be a prophet is either deluded or a con artist.

  11. I don't know Google the Branch Davidians.  That ought to be some nice reading.
