They are always dreaming up new taxes - now I see the real reason behind their "global warming" agenda - it is to raise taxes. They are now trying to push a "carbon footprint tax.

  1. You are in disagreement with the entire scientific establishment. The evidence for human impact global warming is irrefutable in peer-reviewed, scientific method studies of the issue.

Of course, there are scientists, a very small percentage indeed of those who study the issue, who disagree. But, most of them are on the payroll of the large carbon polluting industries. You can bet that in a country where corporations yield so much power, influence and wealth, they will be able to obfuscate the issue, and confuse the minds of the American public. But there is no real confusion in the scientific academy. Global warming is caused by carbon emissions in industries that profit substantially from their polluting, status quo systems. To retool would be a great expense, and perhaps they would not be as competitve as newer companies vested in alternative, clean solutions. SO they use their vast wealth to confuse and obfuscate the issue in the media, they buy politicians who will protect these polluters, and they buy scientists.

But once again, their is no real challenge to the case of man-made global warming.......

  2. Oh! well it takes all kinds.   Do you really believe there has been no change in our weather and there is no global warming.  Where do you live that the weather hasn't been different and what is your answer to this new change.  Do nothing?  what if it is true keep your head in the sand.  All not just liberals are saying our weather patterns have change and its call global warming what your answer.  No ones raising any ones taxes.    If they want to raise taxes there is the war you could always use that mess.  how about our poor infrastructure we need more money for that how about just keep begging china.  You wont have to worry about global warming we will belong to China as a citizen.

  3. I believe that if it is indeed a smokescreen, it is one of the most elaborate smokescreens ever. I mean, they have to go out an convince those glaciers to start melting more quickly, and I image those snow clouds had to be threatened a lot to stop existing...

  4. More like a way for a World Government.  That is the purpose of Keyoto per Charoc ex pres of France.  Think about it, if someone had the authority to say who must pay what to whomever then the have all kind of control of countries and people.  This is stupid.  Conserve like Al 'The Greenie' Gore,  thats the role model.

  5. This is a very naive attitude. Read about global warming in a setting that has nothing to do with politics. Just read the scientific facts. The best scientists could care less about the politics other studies. Don't fall into the Bush rut of bashing Democrats or anyone who does not follow their ideology without question.

  6. global warming is a real issue, it is the reasons behind it that are in dispute.  and yes it would increase taxes exponentially if we try to combat it.

as long as the third world nation's industries are using 19th century technology, humans will continue to contribute toxic chemical to the atmosphere.

according to the theory of GIA, "When human populations stress the biosphere beyond its capacity to repair itself (cutting the forests, polluting the waters and the atmosphere, eliminating species left and right etc) this potential for healing is reduced."

however livestock and fauna are major contributors and not much can be done about that.

  7. I'm sure liberals (and everyone else in Washington) could make a lot more money if they allowed industry to pollute as they wish, and not have to obey expensive environmental laws. Then they could tax industries more. Besides, all the carbon footprint money is used to reduce carbon emissions, not for general government spending.

  8. Good to Push.

    Regards

  9. ok look i think you're being silly - I'm about as liberal as Ronald Reagan but I think you are way beyond reason here

it no surprise that our planet goes through hot and cold cycles - this happened long before man was around - and perhaps all planets (probably caused by the sun) go through some periodic heating and cooling - but don't be a moron -

I am a man a science and a serious conservative - and even I know that the planet's heating has been accelerated by the actions of humans - would it have gotten this hot without us - yes surely but it would have taken centuries (or longer) without our input

I think it's time for everyone - liberals and conservatives - to take a moment or two away from their partisan bantering and try to figure out a way to solve this problem -

is a carbon footprint tax the right thing to do - i don't know - but i do know that we have to figure this problem out

the only good thing about global warming - pretty soon I'll have beachfront property

  10. I believe you like conspiracy theories.

  11. Taxes are just a start.  They will use the issue to tax gas, to stop all timber, forcing us to buy all from overseas,  they will force the Utility companies to switch to "alternative power sources" like wind and solar, which do not work, and so their will be large scale blackout, they will have a verson of a (sin tax) for cars that don't look like a egg that you can actualy sit in.  They will punish poeple who have fireplaces, or stove.  Once this door is opened they will run wild.

  12. I agree and think you are on the dot.

Yet another reason NOT to have government try to solve problems. When you whine about something or poses a threat, they either pass laws that make life more difficult, or push new taxes. Did you here about the congestion tax talked about in NY?  Plain insanity and greed. In short, they make things worse, not better.

It is up to the people to take direct action to solve problems, not the government. For example, I do believe global warming exists and was caused by human activity. So what do I do?  Instead of buying a gas guzzling SUV, I bought a small car with good gas mileage. It is not much, however it is me doing a small part to help out.

  13. You are right.

    f**k the planet.

  14. I don't know the science, but cleaning up the air has benefits in itself even if global warming is not due to pollution to the extent Al Gore says.  Clean rain is better than acid rain, clean air is better for all of us, clean energy that we don't need to fight wars over is a good idea too.

I'm not sure we need higher taxes to promote the development of clean energy, however.  As new technologies develop, wind farms and electric cars and the like will become less expensive and more profitable than fossil fuels and will replace oil and gas.

  15. New taxes?  You are thinking too small.

THe liberal agenda is nothing short of communism.

  16. For starters, global warming is a scientific concept, not a liberal one.

Liberals don't impose taxes just for the h**l of it.  That's a paranoid conspiracy theory.

Your information about planets warming is incorrect.  Parts of Mars are warming (and parts are cooling).  This is due to dust storms making the surface darker.  Jupiter and Pluto are warming.  Neptune might be warming.  That's it - about half the planets are warming for various reasons and half aren't.  If global warming were due to the sun (which has been disproven), then every planet would be warming.

  17. President Bush believes Global Warming is real. I believe Him, not you.

  18. We are heating up at a MUCH GREATER RATE than natural cycles/processes can account for, and ALL the science points the finger directly at human activity.

Anyone who continues to deny this is a willfully ignorant Luddite.

  19. no.  Why do you listen to one scientific report that says other planets are heating up, but not the scientific reports that say Global Warming on earth is aided by humans?  There is a very scientific reason for the other planets heating up, as well as a very scientific reason humans are contributing to Global Warming.

  20. You are partially correct.  Global Warming is a very serious problem and should be addressed immediately.  But yes, many on the left are anxious to find a solution that taxes and fines as many people as possible.

The World needs positive solutions to this problem.  People and corporations that find solutions should be rewarded.  It makes a lot more sense than the old class warfare blame game.

The governments should encourage people to find good cheap solutions to these technological solutions.  And they can charge the governments that are not helping for the inventions that will help everyone.

Private industry has done a lot to resolve water and pollution problems in the U.S.  The same people are clever enough to solve the problems of Global Warming.  Cooperation and encouragement make more sense than taxation and punishment.

  21. Mr Gore missed the chance to become president, so he is now working on becoming the King of the world. Look at that cave man go

  22. Naw....I think they really believe what they say. They might be wrong, but they believe it 100%.

They don't need a reason to raise taxes. They can always drum up some additional support for "asking the rich to pay their fair share". Of course anyone who can spell their own name correctly should be able to see the fallacy of higher taxes, but that won't stop them.
