  1. Yes any bank acc. will take the cheque

  2. u should be able to pay into your PO account, if not just walk into another bank and open a new account then pay it in there

  3. no but you can cash your cheque at a specialist shop that cashes cheques they will take around £4 off the cheque for service charge but its better than £60

  4. Take the cheque to the post office. They will pay it into your account with them for you. You will need the post office account book too.

  5. What do you mean you have a service charge of £60.00? There is no way any bank could get away with charging you that amount to cash a cheque. If your not happy with your bank simply go and open another account with a different bank and submit the cheque there.

  6. no take it to a cheque exchange they will charge about £5 to cash it its got to be better than a £60

  7. But you OWE the £60 due to your being overdraft.  Since you have to pay it anyway, use the £100 to cover it and manage your account better.  It really does not matter that the £100 was a birthday gift or salary, it should be just cash to you.
