  1. Uhm... that's hard to say without knowing more.

In many cases though, people blame themselves for their pet's death for the same reason people blame themselves when any loved one dies, because part of you feels there must have been something, *anything* that you could have done to save them.

I think people feel that way, because it's difficult to truly believe how helpless we really can be.  It's part of human nature to blame ourselves, rather than accept that sometimes thing are out of our control.

  2. Was the cat old, and it was not your folt don't blame yourself, it probably was old,and I'm really sorry for your cat, I know how it feels I had a kittens(cats) die before, and I'm really sorry ={ SORRY!!!!!

  3. well what happened to it??

  4. You need to give me more info. how did your cat die and did u have anything to do with it? were u there when it happened? was she hit by a car or poisoned? all i know is that your cat died but i need more info.......

  5. It's common to blame yourself for the death of a loved one or pet even if you know it's not your fault. All things will die, and if your cat lived a long life it was probably happy too. Don't blame yourself.

  6. you should give me a little more info. what happened to ur cats that make u feel guilty. did you love them alot? do you have trouble sleeping cuz of them? I'd like to hear more. u can email me. I had a cat named Pricsilla and she was runned over. i blamed myself but i got over it after a while. Best wishes :)

  7. Most people make the best decisions they can BASED ON THE KNOWLEDGE THAT THEY HAVE AT THE TIME. You can do no more. Since I have no clue as to what happened, just understand that bad things happen to the best of us. Take time to heal and then do better next time. Dr W

  8. You know dont blame yourself  and um tht was more of a guess you have to give more info i dont no wat happened but dont blame yourself you should try to be happy for your cat for the time you had with it.

  9. Because you have no one to blame but yourself.

  10. You are a caregiver, which feels like being a parent. Parents are not supposed to outlive their children, as the natural order of things. So, the part of you who was your cat's parent is mourning your child and has outlived him/her. Plus, since we have so much control over what our pets are exposed to, what medical attention they receive and when, it feels like what happens to them is a direct result of your actions or inactions. Please realize that you did the best you could, and I'm sure your kitty loved you for it.

  11. I've blamed myself for my pets' deaths before too.  It usually isn't your fault... but you blame yourself because you think... gee, what could i have done more??  Could I have taken better care of her?  Could I have spent more time with them??  It's only natural.  But don't be hard on yourself :)

  12. We can't help you without some more information.  HOW your cat died makes all the difference.  For example, if your cat died of old age, it would not make sense for you to feel responsible.  On the other hand, if you ran over it in your car, it would make sense.
