well, i have my own in my room, but my "family's" computer is in the kitchen (which i used to use). so recently I have been coming home at night (im 19) and my dad jumps up after closing the browser. also, i usually go drink water before i go to sleep and walk to the kitchen, same thing, he minimizes the browser. So i was suspicious and today i was home alone and checked the history on that computer and found p**n. so i was right and this makes me very angry. i guess im just thinking of my 7 yr old sis and what if she walks in on him.

so anyway i blocked p**n through google (explicit images and stuff). my dad is a real mexican and just recently learned how to even use a computer. he doesnt really know what he is doing so yeah.

should i leave it blocked and let him keep doing it?

btw, if they get a virus on their computer, there goes my internet. last time my mom took off the internet while they got it fixed. my mom doesnt know about this....i dont think.

  1. That's funny! But bad.  I wouldn't say anything about the whole incident.  He will know something is wrong when he tries to go to the p**n web site and can't.  If he just learned how to use a computer then he won't know anything about the parental control thing.  If I were you I would not say a word.  If he says there is something wrong with the computer then just tell him in a very nice but direct way that there was some "unusual" pop ups that kept coming up when you used that computer and you blocked the sites and then explain  that you didn't want to harm the computer.  He may not even know that this can harm the computer.  (Believe me it can.  My husband was doing the same thing and our computer died because of it. )  Just keep the conversation light and act like it was no big idea that you put blocks on those sights.  He will know what you are doing and won't challenge you because he will be too embarrassed.

  2. 1. Tell your mom

    2. Have you and mom confront daddy about the situation.

    3. All Mexicans are not computer illiterate.

  3. He's an adult, so he should be allowed to view any website that he wishes. But do talk to him, tell him to be more careful and maybe establish some parental controls on the computer to protect your little sister. Teach him how he can override those parental locks when he needs to do his thing.  It's gross and nasty but hey, he's an adult.

You're not wrong to be concerned, but do realize that as an adult and the owner of the computer, I assume, he does have every right to view p**n.  Just tell him you know, and let him know that even though you don't approve, he can do what he wants but he needs to be very careful.

  4. LEAVE IT BLOCKED!!!!!!!!!!!

  5. Yeah, I would leave it blocked.   Maybe he will just purchase a subscription to Playboy instead. lol  Better yet, tell your mom.

  6. Hes the adult and its none of your business what he is doing.   Unblock it and if you really feel the need to stick your nose in his business talk to him.  Tell him you know about it and just want him to be more careful so your lil sis doesn't see it.

  7. Well by you blocking it its all most like your saving your parents marriage, because if your mom found out about this i'm sure she wouldn't be okay with it and probably get VERy upset.

I totally think you should keep it blocked your protecting allot.  And maybe if you still notice him hiding things for you, you should talk to him your 19 for pete sake your an adult totally talk to him respectfully but in a caring way...because you wouldn't have blocked it you didn't care..:) so good luck..hope i was a help

  8. block it if you feel safe..i would...

  9. Well, it was right since you are protecting your family. Tell him that there are other "ways" to relax and relieve stress. You are old enough! I am proud of you, for doing what you did. The family shouldnt be explicted to that kind of stuff. Mabye get his own computer and he can do it somewhere private? Bottom line is that you did a good thing.

  10. ...are you working, who pays the bills...if its dad, move the computer to

    his bedroom...away from seeing eyes...goodluck...

  11. You made the right decision of blocking this sinful junk!!! You need to be proud of yourself. Next you should let you mother know about this. I was cheated on by my ex husband and I wish people would have told me about the things that he had done instead of after the fact. Yes, p**n sure can put viruses into your computer. My husbands cousin stayed one night with us and while we were asleep he got on our computer and went into p**n sites. Guess what? We had a BIG virus in the computer. It cost us out the butt to get it fixed. So you leave it blocked out. It's a sin anyway to lust at p**n. I'm glad you're a smart girl.

  12. A good thing to do would be to teach him how to clear the browser's history so that your sister won't be able to stumble upon it.  Maybe he could get a cheap computer in a more private area.

  13. its great that u did this.... he shouldnt be doing that!!!!

  14. I think you did the right thing don't let on you knew what he was doing and don't let him know you can fix it
