Question:

I boiled rice in a stainless steel pot and burned the inside of it. What cleans the inside tarnished areas?

Most of the tarnished spots are gone, but there's still some spots. Please help!!

  1. Good news bad news answer.

    Good news, if the rice is the problem, any good NON CHLORINE cleaning.  Because there are different types and grades of stainless, never use a cleaner with bleah or chlorine.  Little elbow greese...

    BAD NEWS.... if you got the pot very hot,,,,burnt black rice,,,,,the "Tarnish" may be a permanent change in the color of the metal as a result of heating.  


  2. Common salt,rubbed in with a sponge.

  3. Oh, my mom just got me some of this GREAT stuff called Cameo,

    they have it at walmart, meijer...etc..

    You sprinkle some on the pot, put a lil water in it, and let it sit for about a minute, then use a sponge w/ water to get it off!

  4. First thing to try is, scrub it with one of those green scratcher pads.  If that doesn't work, steel wool (e.g. and SOS pad) should do the trick.

  5. Ajax works great on almost anything that ans scrub
