THE flat is located in the Montmartre area, near rue Lepic. Do you think its in a good place is it close to attractions (if yes which?) and is it easy to get to the attractions from there. is it a nice and clean neighbourhood? Has anybody been there? any nightclubs? and is it close to moulin rouge?

Thank you for your answers...

  1. Paris is a relatively compact city compared to most other national capitals and has a very dense public transport system. No address in the city proper is more than 6 blocks from a Metro stop. Therefore, this or any address is close to all tourist attractions.

Montmartre is a very popular neighborhood with both locals and tourists and generally quite nice. Along the Blvd. Clichy there are a number of s*x shops, questionable bars, and the occassional prostitute but if you are not looking for trouble you will not find any.

The Moulin Rouge is on the corner of the Blvd Clichy and the rue Lepic.

  2. Montmartre is nice (because of the Sacré Coeur, the picturesque of the houses...) but not very posh. Notice that place Pigalle, there are lots of sexshops and the "Moulin rouge" too, so be careful with the atmosphere of this neighbourhood if you have children. Nightclubs are common there.

Frankly, Montmartre isn't part of the cleanest neighbourhood.

It is rather a vulgar neighbourhood to my mind.

The main attractions in Paris are located in the West of the city ; the spot is easy to notice because of the property prices, brand stores...

If you are a bit bohemian, Montmartre is made for you.

  3. I am not familiar with the street name but the area is bustling.  I visited Paris as a student a few years ago and I thought Montmartre had a very busy and fun atmosphere- lots of locals, tourists, artists, restaurants, shops, etc.. the attractions near by includes the Moulin Rouge (I recommend it) and the Sacre Couer Basilica..  And you can easily get to the center of Paris where all the monuments are via the train in say 15  mins. Also, if you are flying in to Paris, you will be closer to Charles deGaulle airport.  I am going back there in a month and currently looking at hotels in Montmartre.  Have fun!
