I borrowed a pair of (non-worn) contacts from my sister and...?

Well, is that okay? Our left eye is the same but her right eye's contact is a little weaker. I don't have a case to put them in so I just used to package they came in and filled it with the cleaner. Is this a bad idea? You can only wear them for 2 weeks but I only plan to wear them for 9 days.

  1. That is  not recommended!! I highly doubt that you too have the exact same eye measurements, meaning that the contacts will not fit your eye properly; wearing the wrong size contact can do serious damage to your eye over time. Do NOT wear another person's contacts.

Also, do not reuse the case the contacts came in. If you go out and by a bottle of solution, you will find a suitable case in the bottom of the box. The original lens package does not have an anti-bacterial feature, while the store bought ones will. If you don't by a proper lens case, you are putting your eyes at high risk for infection!

  2. I do not see anything wrong with this as long both as you have actually been prescribed the same contact lenses - e.g. brand, base curve, diameter as your sister.  If your prescription is a little weaker or stonger you should still be ok.

I suggest going to any store that sells lens cases and get a real case for them.  They are usually around $1.00 and well worth it.
