  1. .... those subs are 400 watts rms each.. keep that in mind so they dont blow or get the coils burned/melted.

the difference about 2 and 4 ohm is just to get different wiring options for the amplifier.

usually if you have a 1 ohm load stable amp *this will get the most power out the amp*, you will need (2) 4 ohm dvc subs, or (1) 2 ohm dvc sub, which can be wired down to a final ohm load of 1 ohm.

if you wire the subs into a final ohm load that the amp is Not stable at... then the amp will go into thermal/protect mode very often when the volume is high. also fuses can be burned.

since you have a 2 ohm dvc sub... you can wire it to 1 ohm load at the amp.... or 4 ohm load at the amp.

but check the specs on your amp to know whats the best wiring option, and how many watts rms the subs will get.

dont over-power the subs, this will blow them / damage them, so always Only look at rms watts, never at peak/max watts.

  2. In my opinion 2 ohm subs are a lot better than 4s.  2s are capable of putting out more power, that is if you have an amp that can support it.  If not then you might ruin the subs.  Consult with your car installation specialist before you hook it all up.

  3. 2 is better if ur amp can handle it, if not there still gonna b loud runnin on 4

  4. it's the impedance of the voice coil.. it will ultimatley determine the load on your amplifier.

  5. 2 ohm needs less power to make sound.  The problem with low ohm speakers is the sound quality suffers.(only noticable to very picky people)
