they were still being advertised but i got told after i paid as there is a rock festival in town so they were not doing them should'nt they have taken signs down?

yes they can do this...the promos always specify "offer good while supplies last"....this instance is no different....they could have told you they had none in inventory and that would have sufficed...yes they should take the signs down

A general rule of thumb is that if a business has a printed advertisement up, they *MUST* honor it.  Anything else constitutes fraud; they can be sued, if not arrested.  You should have handed the food back and demanded a full refund.  Report this to the Department of Consumer Protection (or whatever your local equivalent is).

most of these big companies have good get out clauses so they can't be sued or anything. i'm pretty sure that in these cases mc Donald's gave like a subject to availability thing on them so they can say they will give them out if they have some in stock... however if they dint gicve out it is always good to write to the manages, not only are you likely to get your galsses but you will also end up with lots of food vouches!!!1

the glasses only come with BIG MAC MEALS and we get the glasses in on tuesday bit they are always sold out by friday.

That's false advertising and they can get in legal trouble for that.

They should have issued a rain check so you could pick them up after the festival. Return and speak to a manager.
