I bought Iphine 16 G , not the new the old one , can i ask does it have any problems?

I updated mine and it bricked itself.  I called Apple and waited an hour to talk to someone and they said that the new update wipes out the 1st Gen iPhone's software and reinstalls the new software and that's where most people have problems.  Basically, if you update it, it will more than likely brick itself.  However, I have to take my iPhone to an Apple store and wait two days to have it even looked at and possibly replaced.

You'd be better off just not even updating it until Apple fixes this problem or you might end up like me stranded at O'Hare Airport for 2 days with no communication to anyone other than my computer.
