Question:

I bought a 120MHz Samsung HDTV recently. Do I need the high Monster HDMI to hook up to my cable box?

The store said I did but when Verizon came to hook up FIOS TV they said I could just use the HDMI cable they brought with them.

  1. To get the most out of your HD receiver you might want to get an HDMI cable. If they provided you with one use it.


  2. Save your money, use the cables you have.

    HDMI is a digital signal.  That means it's moving computer style data (numbers) around.  If the TV can make out the numbers, it will assemble a perfect picture every time.  If it can't make out the numbers, you will get nothing.  It either works or it doesn't.  So, you are not going to see the difference between a $10 cable and a $100 cable.

    Monster makes a good cable, but is is way overkill for most home installations.

  3. ....well 120mhz tells me nothing is it 1080 i or p and does it have hdmi ...and since hd is a digital signal you DONT need to buy any special hdmi cable that costs a hundred buck theyre ripping you off its the same as a 10 dallor one of the internet...oh and your cable box would need to have hdmi

  4. The monster 1000 series is the only hdmi cable that can handle 120hz.
