I just bought a 2002 Hyundai Elantra, it has about 59K miles on it. When I start the car it makes lot of noice. My friend looked at it who has lot of knowledge of auto parts and auto mechanics. He told me that the person who had this car before me never did his oil change and has lot of sludge build up on it. Is there a way to remove it all or do I have to get rid of it? Would professional auto mechanics be able to remove it? Is it safe to use chemical additives? Please offer the best way to remove it

  1. IF IT HAS THAT KIND OF BLD UP W/59K, I THINK I'D BE LOOKING THE CAR OVER REAL GOOD,BETCHA THATS NOT ALL YOU'LL FIND WRONG.BUT TO ANS. YOUR QUES. CASTROL MAKES A DEGREASER THAT GOS INTO THE ENG.&HELPS WASH OUT SLUDGE,IT MIGHT TAKE A COUPLE OF TIMES WHEN YOU CHANGE YOUR OIL TO GET IT ,AND DOUBT IF YOU WILL EVER GET ALL OF IT,YOU CAN FIND THIS STUFF AT ANY AUTO PARTS STORE,BACK IN THE DAY WE WOULD USE DEISEL FUEL MIXED IN THE OIL,OR MINERAL SPIRITS,BUT THAT WAS ON GOOD OLD TOUGH 283'S&327S

DONT THINK I WOULD TRY IT ON THESE ENG.BLT TODAY.
