I bought a 'Slice-a-Slice" made in Duncanan Pa. How does it it work?

I got it at a yard sale but can't figure it out. Ebay has a few and it seems to be a bread slicer, but I don't see how. It looks like 2 graters put together inside out!

Can anyone explain it to me? I'm baffled. Thanks

  1. Put a slice of bread inside and close it.  Take a bread knife (a long jagged rectangular knife) and saw it back and forth through the entire contraption through the slits in the side.  Go all the way down, then open the device.  Now you have two very skinny slices of bread, and you can make tea sandwiches or just cut down on carbs!
