Is it likely the clutch biting low is causing the gear stiffness? Is it likely it can be cured with a clutch adjustment? How do I adjust it?

  1. if there's an adjustment it should be on the top of the gearbox, but if the clutch is engaging low on the pedal stroke its probably a reasonably new clutch.  i would think that because the adjustment is out the clutch isn't fully disengaging making it hard to select gears.  if you can find the adjuster wind it until you have the right amount of freeplay or take it to a mechanic.

  2. if the clutch is hydraulic operated & there is no leaks you cant adjust it & you will need to replace the clutch. if its a cable system the adjustment is normaly on the firewall where the cable comes through or on the top of the gearbox . this can cause your gear change problems.
