I bought a apple router to hook up my macbook to get wi-fi in my home, can I connect my macbook to my xbox 360

If I could hook up my macbook to my xbox 360 would xbox live connect to my internet through my laptop without the wireless device that they sell for $100 at stores?

Windows computers have Internet connection sharing that make this possible.  Not sure if Mac has a similar feature?  There are other devices called gaming adapters that will work for the 360 without a computer that are less than 100.

Yes. On your xbox there is a section where you can do this. I believe the tab is called Media Connection.

probably. Just put the ethernet cord to the mac, and 360, then bridge the connections.
