it all in french green bottle 55 percent alchol 70 cl. it says in french distilleries and domaines de provence 03400 forcalquier france ingredients alcool,sucre de canne,infusion et essences de plantes d'absinthe 1,5%,esprits et essence de plantes. also how much do these bottles cost

  3. Absinthes are legal to sell in the U.S. now, provided the thujone levels are below a certain amount.

    Big absinthe snobs will claim that the thujone must be above a certain level to truly be absinthe, but historical documents show that recipes for absinthe varied greatly.

    Most American-made absinthes are selling for $55 to $75 a bottle. Bottles from overseas can cost from about $50 (American) to $250, and cost plenty to ship.

    The bottom line? If you bought a bottle of absinthe at a liquor store, it's a bottle of absinthe. The snobs will tell you otherwise, but they're just angry that the rest of us are horning in on their elitist hobby.

    My husband, who is a former absinthe snob, is a huge fan of Sirene, an American-made absinthe made in Chicago.
