I bought a camera that says 12MP(interpolated).Then it says 3.0MP.What does this mean?

  1. That means the camera is a toy and has a very old sensor ... 3mp sensors disappeared at least five years ago ... another clue will be if the USB support is 1.1 ... the current USB version is 2.2

    It probably has a fixed focus lens too, so no optical zoom or auto-focus.  The lens is probably pre-focused at 2m (about 6 feet)
