I've heard that FL requires a bill of sale in order to register the car there. Is this true? Please advise.

  1. You need to take the NJ title to the Florida DMV and have it transferred to a Florida title. At this time you will be required to pay a tax fee. Used to be called an Impact Fee but that was found to be illegal so they changed the name to something else. You can then get 30 day tags until the regular title comes back to you in the mail. Then take the title to the DMV and get plates.

  2. you need a bill of sale. one reason if for proof of legal ownership. another reason is for any taxes that may be assessed.

  3. You should go to the website for the Florida DMV.   All you have to do is google that.  They will have that info.

  4. http://www.dmv.org/fl-florida/department...

  5. Yes, I believe you do need a bill of sale.  If you need a bill of sale form you can download a Florida standard bill of sale fillable form for $10 at www.legalformsbank.biz.
