surprised how quickly it oxidized. I bought a dremel tool set, but am scared to ruin the blade. but since I own the piece it would be in my favor to learn to take care of it. Steel wool huh?

that wont scratch the blade? any suggestions or should the dremel tool and a light polish(navel jelly?) be ok?

thank you

  1. Polish with Brasso first. It is good for all metals and some plastics. If that doesn't get it all then try 0000 steel wool followed by Brasso. Doesn't matter if it dries, it will polish off and leave sort of a protective coating. The sword is too big and the Dremel will make the polish job look uneven. Do it by hand.

  2. Polish it

  3. Steel wool is probably your besy bet. Polish afterwards.

Of course, an even better option is to prevent the oxidation in the first place with good care and maintenance.
