I bought a computer from Sam's Club about a week ago and when I cleaned my car I lost my reciept...?

Do they have a way to look it up by member number?

Yes.  They can also pull it up if you give them the credit or debit card you used to buy it.

The cash thing is your problem. You havn't a leg to stand on. The sad thing is the "no sales slip/paid cash" story is how shop lifters used to cash products back to the stores they stole them from. I take my sales slips to the library and copy them. That way when the original fades in the sun they will take the info off the copy.

Hey I just joined Sam's Club today. I remember there being a huge sign behind member services that said not to lose your reciept for electronic purchases. I'm sure with the technology today they probably can, but are they willing to?

If you used a credit or debit card, they should be able to scan it and know that you bought it. Also maby you can get a store credit and buy a new one if they offer that.
