  1. It is not reboot. It is reinstallation of Operating System.

Please make sure that you have the installation DVD

  2. Rebooting would simply restart ur computer. U can reinstall the OS.If u want to clean up al the files used b4 u can refer answer # 2 but if u want to reinstall a new OS and still save some of her files den u can follow the below steps to Reinstall OS

    1) Back up the required files from C drive to anyother drive,

    2) insert a bootable win Xp cd in Cdrom

    3) restart the system> then u will get this msg> press any key to boot from the cd.

    4) press enter.> select C drive for installing the OS

    5) select'  format the drive in NTFS and install.

6)After this the set up will take some time to install the sys files and U must enter the CD key and press enter.

    7) Give a name for ur computer and administrator password and the settings can be done by urself ie time settings, country, etc.

    8) Do not select corporate domain in the network option but rather avoid any network configuration if u dont know.

    9) just follow the instructions and u might come across minor changes which u can do it urself .

This activity can take atleast 45 min depending on ur comp speed. after the installation of OS right click on MY COMPUTER and go 2 properties> hardware>devce manager>ok

click on the yellow Question mark and click on install drivers after inserting the driver cd ( Drivers for audio/ modem).

I think this should complete the reinstallation of OS on ur system.

  3. Don't bother with all that, you can create a new user and then afterwards delete her profile.  Go to user account setup in Control Panel - User Accounts - Create a new account and make yourself an admin.

Log out and then log on using your new username

Go back to control panel and pick System, click on Advanced, click on user profiles, highlight the previous user's name and then click delete.

That will clear off all the stuff they had as far as under my documents, desktop, and user settings, if you want to remove programs do it from add remove programs in control panel.

    Good Luck!!!

  4. If you mean clean it so it is brand new you can system restore it to the first point when it was turned on.

Go to Control Panel > System Restore then select the earliest restore point.
