I bought a flat screen tv set six years ago. can anyone please tell me if this tv is digital or not?

on this tv there is a small digital screen for selecting channel. does this mean the whole set is digital? please help me

  1. You doing broadcast, cable, or satellite? If you are using the last 2, it won't matter. If you are using broadcast, many channels are already broadcasting in digital now.

    I use broadcast. I get about 5 PBS stations. They use channel 16 here but the digital comes in 16.2  16.3  16.4 16.5 etc.

    I also get other channels that are extra from analog. Digitial takes a little longer to change channels.

I'm fairly certain that all flat screen TVs are digital.  take a look at the connections on the back of it.  If you have yellow/red/white connections for audio/video input then it should be a digital TV.  But, to know for sure, you should contact the manufacturer (check their web site) specifically for the model that you own (the model number should be on a tag on the back of the set along with a serial number and other basic information).

  3. 6 years old, I would doubt it is digital, have you tried the manfacturers web site

  4. If you can get freeview channels without a freeview box then it is ,that is to say you get more than 5channels
