  1. first newly bought fish should be quarantine after couple of week no sign of diseases then put it in your pond.  Add rocksalt in your quarantine tank with good aeration.

  2. The fish should have been quarantined before adding to the pond.  Since you don't know what kind of disease, if any, it may have, you don't want to treat it.  If and when disease symptoms do show up in your fish, then you can treat it for the appropriate disease.

  3. No; I would just add some stress coat to the pond to keep the fish stress free.  Transporting fish from the pet sotre to home can put a lot ofstress on a fish.

  4. No you don't have to treat the water for disease.

If you are purchasing fish from a reputable store, they are more than likely disease free, although things do happen.

You must remember, prior to purchasing a fish, watch it swim around look for signs of outward disease, check out the other fish from the same tank and others (since most stores tanks are connected)

Make the transition as easy and stress free as possiable for your fish and no you don't need to quaranteen all fish.

I've had fish for more than 30 years and never put one in a quaranteen tank.  Never lost one from not doing it either.  Just watch what you buy and who you buy it from.
