  1. also when buying chain get an American or German made chain.i noticed the Chinese made ones are not lasting long enough to be worth the savings.i was told its because they are recycled steal.

  2. It is not how many cuts but what were you cutting. The closer to the stump the worse the dirt is in a tree. Also some parts of the country actually have trees that are worse than others and can ruin a chain in just a few cuts.

Hitting the dirt directly will also cause it to dull fast. A buried nail in the wood does nasty things to them

  3. There could be several reasons for this. If your bar is worn, the chain will wobble and wear unevenly. Possibly the wood you are cutting is extremely hard. Or maybe the wood is dirty. Dirt will act like sandpaper and dull a chain quickly. Also be sure the chain has the correct tension. A too loose or too tight chain will affect wear.

  4. well no oil in the tank or oiler will burn up a chain in a few minutes... it might be best if you gave it to someone before you hurt yourself... bar chain oil gas and gas mix and a good round file

  5. So when did Chevy start making Chain Saws???

  6. ya stuck it in the dirt, come on fess up!
