Question:

I bought a new iron and when I go to use it, it sticks to all the fabric it has a teflon bottom ?

so it should iron easier. Is there something I can do like spray furniture polish on it or something? Thanks

  1. Many times there is a coating which must be melted off.  Follow the instructions to do this.  (Usually turn the iron on high for several minutes without ironing clothes.  Allow to cool and then see if it still sticks.)

    Second, if yu cannot get the iron to work as it is supposed to, return it for another.  


  2. Iron a piece of waxed paper and see if that helps.  This usually makes the iron glide more smoothly.  If it's still sticking to the fabric, maybe you should trade it for another.

  3. Return it. When heated Teflon gives off toxic gases. You are breathing it in while ironing

  4. DO NOT USE FURNITURE POLISH ON THE IRON!!!

    Turn the heat down. It is likely too hot for the fabrics you are trying to iron if it is sticking.

  5. Return it
