I bought a new samsung LN52A650 LCD with 120hz. How or What can broadcast this 120hz?

We have tried monster cables and 1000 HDMI cables. This does not acheive the 120hz!

  1. You are, rightly confused.

    120 Hz refers to the refresh rate of the panel itself.

    Normal input is either 24 Hz or 60 Hz. The TV's circuits duplicate the input pictures so that they refresh the picture at 120 hz.   You will see the benefits of 120 Hz only in movies (reduces judder) or in scenes with high high-motion.

    So, nothing is broadcast in 120 Hz, but the TV displays always at 120 Hz.  The extra frames are either duplicated or interpolated - depending on the amount of motion.
