can i keep settings at their highest ? without have to worry about the tvs lifespan ? also will video games matter if i play at highest quality

absolutely!!!!!  These are designed to have everything thrown at them.  

In order to get the highest quality, you will need HDMI 1.3 cables, and a good source.

At night or when it's darker in the room, I would tone down the brightness - they can cause a lot of eyestrain and feel like they're ripping your eyes out if they're really bright in a really dark room.  I usually switch between a medium and bright depending on night or day.
