  1. wedge/5iron/7iron are best. open up your stance and lift the ball in the air so it bounces to the green about 3/4 times and rolls on to the green.

  2. this seems to be the place to get some advice on Hogan Irons. Just how many different types are there? There are all kinds on E Bay. Are some cast and others forged?

A couple of years ago i was trying different Hogans, one worked very well for me and others didn't. Wish i remembered which model worked.  I do remember that graphite did not work nor did the over size model.

I have found a set of used Hogans for $199 at a golf store and they feel great. They are cavity backed but not sure if forged or cast.

I am a high handicap and am currently using Wilson forged which are very difficult to hit.  Maybe a cast would be better

  3. equalizer haha. I LOVE HOGAN IRONS!!!!!!! they have so much spin and forgiveness . ive hit them since i was 12 and i hit them good ever since. ( im 14 now btw)

  4. Equalizer is correct

  5. mister hogan when under contract with macgrgor called his wedge the great equalizer . due to physical condition , and small stature , even by 1940s, 1950s size . when he opened his own company . he used the e on his wedge . sand iron , not sand wedge on first sand wedges . his new clubs cost him the 1955 . he hand delivwerd the 1 to 9 iron personally to jack fleck , who already had e wedge sand iron . fleck then used irons for two practice rounds . then pulled off one of the greatest underdog stories by tying hogan , then defeating the great man in a playof the next day . tigers winning on blown knee does pale in comparision what the playoff round did to hogans body . little known fact hogan lost sight left eye after accident .

  6. equalizer

  7. The E stands for "Equalizer" which is the Hogan name for pitching wedge.
