The seller stated the phone was new in the ad, but when i received it it looked used. I was wondering, when i ask the seller for a refund, does he give me the refund then i ship it, or do i ship it back, then receive the refund? Or should i report this to paypal???

  1. I know what you mean... I've purchased a "new" item that was c**p. Just contact the seller on Ebay and let them know you want a refund. Then when they contact you back [sometimes they give you a refund confirmation number] you mail it back to them. You pay for shipping though. Then when the seller gets the item back, they refund your money into your Paypal account. Depending on the seller, shipping costs you paid when you purchased the item may not be refunded to you. And you are not refunded the shipping to send it back. If you wanted, you can always report the seller as well. The Help button in the top right corner of your ebay page has a contact button... go there and you can report the seller

  2. The seller will usually request that the item is shipped back , before they issue a refund, remember to have the R/A number and corespondance to the return saved, send it back with a way to track it. If the seller refuses to refund , file a dispute with ebay over the misleading auction wording,,
