I bought a pictus catfish and he has white dot , is that ich?

That is a sign of ich. But its hard to tell without a picture it could be a natural marking. My suggestion is to watch its behavior. If it starts to rub on the gravel or decor or even other fish like its itchy or if it just starts to act lethargic then I would treat for ich imeadiately.

If it ich the dots will be lumps and you can also tell if the fins on the fish looks like its disintegrating or is jagged you can fix this with pimafix and melafix.
