  1. It isn't if you want yours longer. There is no set "length-to-height" standard. It varies. It's all up to what you want, and how it feels.

The longer the board the quicker you can stop and the stronger it usually is. You will feel more "secure and safe" the bigger your board.

The smaller you board the more maneuverable it is, and easy to handle. It will turn sharper, and will be lighter, but may feel more weak and flimsy under your feet. Freestyle snowboarder usually favor a shorter board for tricks, since it is more easily maneuverable.

    Examples:

    -I'm 5' 10" (150 pounds) and ride a 156cm board. It's perfect for me!

-A buddy of mine is  5' 3" (About 155 pounds) and rides a 154cm board

However his identical twin is the same size and height but preffers a 156cm board.

It really comes down to prefferance. Go to a board shop and set some boards on the ground and stand on them to get an estimate for how long you want your board.

  2. im the same hight and i ride 145 so it might feel a little wierd

  3. It seems a bit long for you. Snowboards should usually measure up to about chin level. If you want speed get a bigger board if not get a smaller one.

Its okay to ride on but probably not the best.

  4. It's pretty long for you.  If you've ridden one before, you might have a little trouble until you get used to it.  If you've never ridden before, you'll have trouble controlling a larger board, so usually shorter boards are reccomended to beginners.  I started on short boards, but really got the hang of snowboarding on a little bit longer board because it was easier to understand the whole concept of leaning forward and using the front edges to turn.

  5. That is maybe just a little too long.

    I'm 5'6" and ride a 148, so maybe a 145 for you, if you're more into freestylin'.

I rode a 160 once, and that was a good board for speed, so if speed is your thing rather than mobility and tricks, go with the bigger board.
