First, you don't need it... second, it probably wouldn't help.

If you want to transfer video from this miniDV tape based camcorder, then you need to install a firewire port in your computer. Connect the camcorder's DV port to the firewire port on the computer and use a firewire cable. Firewire, IEEE1394a and i.Link are all the same thing.

USB will not work. A firewire to USB converter will not work.

The USB drivers for transferring compressed video have not been supported by the camcorder manufacturers or Microsoft.
