Question:

I bought a used 42'' rear projection tv a couple of days ago and..?

It worked fine until now it does not turn on, the light is on but there is no sound or picture..could I take it back to the guy for a refund or for him to fix it even though there is no warranty on it? thanks.

  1. If there is no warrenty...then it was sold "as-is", you purchased the unit based on the condition at the time of sale. The seller would be under no obligation to do anything.

    I've worked on rear-projection TV's, and...all i can say is it could be about 400 things causing it to not turn on, only a real service tech would know.


  2. If you bought the TV with no warranty then you get what you pay for.

    Due to the sale only being a couple of days ago , I would contact the person you bought it from and see if he may fix it or refund your money , BUT HE IS LEGALLY NOT LIABLE TO DO SO.

    Be nice when you contact him and he may take pity on you but he does not have to help you because the TV was sold "as is , with all faults if any".

    That is what they meant when they said there was no warranty on the TV.
