And then he took my car to get fixed, it's been 3 weeks and he keeps reassuring me that it's still getting handled. What should I do? I need the car I bought, and I need to have plates, don't I?

  1. 3 weeks in the shop--at least around here---is far from unheard of.  When you call to ask about it, they always tell you it will be ready the next day, but it never is.  It's absolutely ridiculous.

    One thing I'm wondering about:  I assume you bought this used car from a dealership?  Did you buy it "As Is No Warranty" or did it come with a limited warranty?  Because if it's already in the shop and you don't have a warranty of any sort, you may want to start placing ads in the local papers.  Just my two cents.  I've been through used car h**l more times than I care to admit--and I've had several nice used cars......

  2. You bought a car 2 mths ago, and for the last 3 weeks its been in the shop?......  may i ask what happened? the engine blow up?..even so I'm not sure about your state, but if it broke down , its not being driven, until you get it out of the shop, you will be forgiven , {so to say} as long as you have a copy of the shops papers showing when they got your car in the there, and when they got it running, or when you picked it up.  BUT, 3 weeks?{in the SHOP?}
