  1. YOU COULD TELL THE OWNER ABOUT IT OR YOU COULD TAKE IT TO A PERSON THAT CAN FIX YOUR PROBLEM  IT SHOULD WORK CHECK IN THE PHONE BOOK FOR NUMBER WECOLE PLEASE ADD ME AS BEST ANSWER

  2. If you bought it in private sales - then you are on your own.  Just fix it.  Next time make sure you take it to a mechanic for an check up.  So you live and learn.

If you bought it at a dealer, you might have some recourse.  First read your contract.  Even if you do NOT have a warranty, your state might have lemon law

don't think that private sales are worse - because there's no warranty.  MSNBC had a news story on where is the best places to buy used cars. The used car dealers were on the BOTTOM of the list. They are pros at negotiations (and you and I are rank amateurs), they are pros at hiding problems on their cars, etc.

The private sales (newspaper, etc.) were the best places. The seller will not tell you all the problems, but they don't know how to hide them.

And a private seller are at MOST they are equal in negotiation skills to you and me.

    Good Luck...

  3. Unless you got a written guarantee or warranty from the seller, your purchase was "as-is" which means you cannot return it or get your money back, regardless of the problems or what the seller told you.

This is why it is so important when buying a used car to get a professional mechanics inspection BEFORE the purchase, and get a CarFax report.

    Best wishes.

  4. Lemon Law only applies to new vehicles and your situation would not qualify even under a new car, so forget that.  All used cars are sold "as-is" unless specified by the seller.  This as-is no warranty paper is a federal law governed by the federal trade commission.

    You have nothing

    Fix the car

  5. Read over the contract...and see what you can do. All I can say..sorry.

  6. as i know used cars are sold as-is, as found...so there nothing you can do legally...

  7. You can get it fixed at your own expense and drive it. Unless you bought it from a dealer, and have a written warranty of some sort, you are on your own.
