Question:

I bought an item on eBay that has not been delivered yet?

I live in the UK and the seller is from the UK as well. I contacted him a week after I had bought the item (a book) to ask if he had posted it yet. He told me he had and that it should have been delivered by now. He said I should go check out my local post office as they might be holding it.

I'm new to the UK and I'm not sure hoe the mailing system works exactly. How do I go about claiming something from the post office if I don't have any reference number? Is it even possible?

My eBay address is correct by the way.

  1. if it had been held at the post office u should have had a slip through ur door same if it was at ur local sorting office. maybe report this to e bay or pay pal if u paid in this way it should tel u how to do this on the website for ebay good luck i hope u resolve this matter.

  2. Ask the seller to check out!

  3. Just go to your local post office sorting office with some form of identity and ask them. They probably will not be able to find it. In which case once 10 ten days has past since you made the purchase you should make a claim through ebay / paypal against the seller for non-receipt of the item. Paypal will almost always find in the buyers favour and you will have your money refunded from the sellers account.

  4. If you purchased using Paypal you may have protection and can claim back through them.

Did the seller have a good reputation if so I would contact directly with him/her aftre you contact the post office it may just be a mistake or a misunderstanding.

As a further last step you can raise a dispute through Ebay. I have maybe had to do this twice on Ebay and got goods or refund in both cases.
