I bought and old aluminum boat and I can’t find the serial number. where can this number be at. Is an sea nymph LV1457. I need this number to register the boat..

  1. . If the boat is very old the vessel I.D. plate might have been removed during some type of work. If you have the title the serial number will be on it.  If no title try contacting who ever sold you the boat for needed info. Good luck!


  2. Where I live any boat under 14 feet does not need registration,  and some boats simply do not have this.

  3. When you go to register the boat, tell them that it is so old that it does not have a serial number on it. If they insist on a serial number, take a vibro-marker and add one.

  4. Many boats built before 1972/1973 did not have model or serial numbers. They were not required. I don't think your boat is that old though. The LV1457 Sea Nymph can be bought brand new today.

    Have the seller give you a notarized bill of sale, call your states boat registration department, and see what else you will need.
