I bought my Chihuahuas KONG bones and they dont chew them they l**k them. How do I get them to chew it???? ?

I bought them the KONG bones and I filled them with the paste and treats and everything. They are just l*****g the stuff out. Then when there toung cant reach anymore they dont play with it. How can I get them to CHEW it not l**k it???

chi's are very picky, mine will only eat certain ones, u just have to keep trying until u find the right one they will chew

you can't.... my dog didn't use those right either... had to through them out cause she wouldn't chew them, she would just pull at them till it was pulled apart.  The whole thing with kongs are they are great for keeping animals occupied.  A chiahuahua is also not a dog very well known for being a chewer... may not be in him.

you can't. its only what they want to do so if they just want to l**k it is fine. you can try to get another toy for them to chew on.

You can not make them chew it however we put peanut butter inside our dogs LOVED that!!!.... The trainer also recommended Apple sauce, however it is MESSY!!!

my dog does this too. i think its because there interested in getting the food and they don't care about playing with it.

You can't. If they don't feel like chewing it, they won't. You'll probably have to find something else to give them to chew on in order to keep them occupied if they don't like KONG.

Sorry, some just like the stuff in them and wont chew them at all.

just keep trying, maybe playing and showing her to chew, like take it and put it up by their mouth, when they are about to take it, just slightly move backwards, but allowing the dog to take it into their mouth, then slightly pull again, this will kinda plant the teeth into it, and give them the thought to hold on with teeth and chew......

had to do this with Koda a few weeks ago, and now he chews it......

you don't the whole point of a kong it to get the to l**k the stuff out as they sit their until its all gone or they cant get at it anymore as i put peanut butter in mine and they sit their l*****g n stuff or i also use to put dog biscuits in their so they just kept moving it around n stuff n playing with it to get them out!

they may be picky like humans...dont force them to have it if they dont want to. l*****g it may be more comfortable to them...if u relle want them to chew it get them a different type
