I don't want to get them much, because I consider the dress to be a gift, but, I'd like to give them a little something, maybe something handmade and personal. Any Ideas?

  1. Ah but do THEY consider the dress a gift, or simply something which they are obliged to wear at your wedding, to suit your colour scheme and your taste?

  2. I didn't buy my bridesmaids their dresses but did make the gift I gave them and they loved it!!

I made them personalized bath baskets!! here is what I used

-small wicker baskets from Michaels craft store (cost about a buck each-check dollar store too)

-small silk flowers (can use your wedding colors or select a color for each bridesmaid) I paid about 50 cents for each bunch of flowers-total about 5 bucks for all my baskets (i had 4 of them)

-tealight candles that matched flower color

-homemade soaps (got the molds, glycerin, and soap dye to match flowers at michaels-about 3 dollars for all of it). you can use store bought soaps too to save cost.

-bath fizz balls (a buck each at walmart)

    -foot scrubber

-face mask packet (about a dollar each at walmart)

    -small bottle of body spray

-body pouf (in same color as flowers)

I took the flowers and pulled them off the stems and hot glued them around the edges of the basket. I then filled the baskets w/paper fill and added the stuff I bought.

my girls loved them b/c of the personal touch!! each one cost me about ten bucks total.

otherwise, maybe getting them each a necklace to wear to your wedding. something inexpensive but pretty from claire's (or similar store). here are some suggestions

  3. I'm getting them glasses, a different style for each - martini glasses, pilsner glasses, champagne flutes and wine glasses, based on who has what and who drinks what. However my mom is the one who paid for the dresses, not me.

Crystal ring holders.  Small gift but useful.  You wouldn't necessarily have to buy Waterford . . . you could get something less expensive.

How about a photo album?  Include photos of times you have spent together.  Then you can send them an additional photo . . . a wedding photo . . . after the ceremony.

  5. handmade

    gift basket

    photo album or scrap book

    store bought

bracelet with a wedding type charm

    photo frame with engraving

as ice as it was to buy the dress its not considered a gift since they need it for the wedding and will most likely never wear it again.  So a gift would only be proper for a thank you to them.

  6. You are a very special bride and friend.  I have never in all my life heard of the bride buying the dresses for her bridesmaids.

I personally think that is enough but if you want to buy them something special then go with a piece of jewelry.  Dont' buy the same thing for all of them.   That will make it more personal and special to each one.

You are one in a million.  Congratulations.  May you have the most beautiful day for your wedding, lots of wonderful memories , a fantastic honeymoon, years of happiness and  all the love your heart can hold.

You are truly a remarkable woman and deserve the best.

  7. Some brides give a small locket or a bracelet as a gift.  However, you said you bought their dresses, I take it that they are allowed to keep the dresses? If so, you could have some pictures of them in their dresses with you put in a nice frame, just as a thank you token.

    Or a silk flower arrangement.

Good luck and every happiness for the wedding

  8. handmade personal

what do you do best creatively....

anyways incorporate your suggestion with a handwritten short than you note thanking each for being a part of this moment something to that effect heartfelt..

monogrammed compact/charm/spa day for all the ladies...

    good luck happy daze

  9. Maybe some earrings to wear with the dresses or a small purse clutch.

  10. maybe you can buy the jewelry for them to wear at the wedding? I got my girls theirs from walmart, and it was on sale even. i just went with simple pearls. It's not home-made, but its nice and they will probably wear it again for some occasion.

  11. How about a little goodie bag that you give them on the day that will help see them through the day and night of your wedding. It doesn't need to be expensive, and if you want to put some thing handmade in how about a lace handkerchief or some thing like that ? i got my mum 1 from ebay it was only a few £ and looks amazing.

In the goodie bag maybe put in a lipstick, wet wipes, a small (you know the sample size?) bottle of perfume, mascara, some chewing gum , you know little knick knacks and maybe a hand written note saying thank you for them being there on your big day and supporting you.

    Good Luck !!!!!!

  12. I think the dress is gift enough. Maybe if you go to Things remembered right now they have having a big sale on lots of things!!!Good luckw ith everything!!!

  13. I think buying them the dress is enough. I had to purchase my own. I would just give them a little lip gloss or a bottle of lotion. Something like that---ladies love that s**t.

  14. You paid for their dresses?  They were supposed to pay for their own dresses so I would say that you already gifted them.
