For two tiny goldfish. I have the filter in, which is making my water warm. Is that normal? Is that okay for my fish? Also there are little bubbles in and around the sides of the tank, is that from the filter? I buy my fish in two days! Answer fast

  1. The bubbles are from the filter putting oxygen into the water, but as I said and many others said in the last post, you are giving goldfish a death sentence in that tank.

  2. The bubbles on the sides are because you just put the water in. For goldfish you are going to need a pretty big tank. Even the smallest ones grow 6-8 inches. You don't need to worry about temperature for goldfish. If you get feeder pet goldfish, they won't grow as big. But they also don't live as long, but are cheaper. If its 3 gallons or lower get a betta instead. If its bigger then 3 gallons get some corys, or neon tetras. Goldfish don't stay the size that you buy them at. And they get really dirty. I would only ever get goldfish to feed bigger fish or for a pond.

  3. the warming water is fine for your fish. and the bubbles are normal for every new fish tank. before you put the goldfish in you want to cycle your tank though. that means buy the cheapest fish you can and put a bioload on your tank before you put in the main fish. it will get your tank going for your goldfish.

  4. filters don't make the water warm heaters do that and the bubbles on the side are from filling up the tank the tank heating up is probley due to room temp and it wont bother your fish

that covers your question but I need to add more your tank is going to cycle which is the process tanks go thru to build up the needed bacteria to break down excess food and fish waste so it will not harm the fish the process takes about a month during that time the tank will get cloudy the secret to cycling the tank with fish is to check the ammonia level daily and some times twice a day you will need to do partial water changes if the ammonia gets over 1.0 for the fishes sake ammonia can and will kill the fish when you do the water changes do not touch the gravel

  5. that is totally ok. the filter makes bubbles to get all the germs out.your fish will be fine!

  6. yes it is happening to me right now im buying it tommorrow because i got my tank yesterday :)

  7. Ok, is your tank 20 gallons or larger?? If not get a bigger tank. Goldfish (Fancy variety, the most common ones in pet store) need 10 gallons of water each to grow to their full potential and be happy. Your tank water will be fine at room temp, as long as you put an airstone in there there should be enough oxygen for the fish. If your tank is not 20 gallons, get different fish, cuz fancy goldfish get 6-8 inches with proper care, and commet and common goldfish can get a foot long, so don't listen to any1 telling you they stay small, cuz thats not true!! The bubbles are probably from the filter so don't worry about it!

Good luck with your new fishies!
