  1. i always rode japp bikes because that's all i could afford.  then at the car dealership i was running, i took a dirt bike on trade, it sold real quick, and i made good money on it, so when a customer asked if i could sell him a harley... i looked into it and found him one.  same thing, easy sale, good profit... and it snowballed from there.  buying and selling many harleys, i realized the resale benefits and had i been riding all these other ones as demos and realized that they are great bikes (i had initially bought into listening to the same type as these other harley bashers here... they're too heavy/they leak oil/they break down... all c**p) saw it for myself they are the best bike one can buy so i started making my own personal bikes harleys from there on out.

  2. For the poon tang that comes along with it.

  3. Because I wanted it, the h**l with the rest of the world.

  4. dont buy them I build them

  5. I didn't.

I bought a proper bike instead, stripped it into a track bike and never looked back.

11th track bike I owned and it was the best of all of them.

    VTR 1000. (RVT RC51 to the U.S market )

Its a V Twin, but thankfully, thats all it has in common with a Harley.

  6. I didn't buy one because my brother didn't want one.

  7. When i was about 10 i saw Easyrider and decided that the Panhead motor was beautiful and i had to have one.So 32 years ago when i turned 20 i bought a Panhead from my brother that i still own.And i still feel it's a work of art that i like just as much as the day i bought it.Old bikes have such personality compared to new ones.

  8. I bought my bike because I had been off of a bike for 30 years, and darnit (keeping the censors happy), I was ready to ride again.  It isn't a Harley (Honda VTX1300R), but the guys I ride with don't mind, and neither do I.  Proof that we can co-exist!

    Happy riding to you all!

  9. Because my sister has one and I'll be damned if I'm gonna be shown up by my sister.

  10. the chicks dig em

  11. Because my brother hates them.

  12. It's the one Junior wanted me to have.

    He said so.

It's a bit of a story, and I'm not repeating it here again.

  13. i am a mountian biker who enjoys being on two wheels and also the view

after i got the motorcycle i wondered why i even bothered getting my pickup

i'm dishing out 500 miles each month on it

  14. My grandparents rode Harleys and Indians, (see the poem "Granny" on Bikernet.com) my dad and uncles all rode, and I got my first Harley in '64. I build several customs a year, but ride an '03 Heritage long distance. My wife is paralized on her left side after a quack cut into her spinal cord, so I converted her Heritage into a trike, and moved the shifter to the right side.  Built a rack for her wheelchair, and away she went! 15. where else can you buy this much lifestyle for $35k?  I'm the king of cool now.  And have you seen the HD line of fashion clothing and accessories?  It's awesome!

  16. Just because I can.  After a spell of being a curb critter, I'll never be without a bike again.

  17. because the old lady bought it for me,then i threw her worthless a$$ out

  18. Honestly, I had no plan whatsoever to purchase a Harley. I went out with the intent to buy either a V-Star or a VTX1300C. There just happened to be a Harley shop near the Honda/Yamaha shop so I figured I'd just take a look. After seeing the bikes up close I bought one on the spot. That was almost 2 years ago and I just went a week ago and purchased my second one. I'll never own anything else as far as cruisers and touring bikes go. I still like and ride Japanese sports bikes though. Only the real idiots out there cannot see that the two are for totally different purposes and are not in competition with one another.
